HISTORY OF POOCH PAD

I created the Pooch Pad in 1995 as a stress free, loving place to board dogs. A “Bed and Breakfast” if you will. I’m proud to say that I was the first business of this type in the Washington area. My inspiration to start this unique business was because of my own dog, who was very ill the last two years of her life. If I had to travel, I didn’t want to put her in a kennel, since they would be traumatic for her to be in a cage, with constant barking and no supervision overnight. Pet sitters were a better alternative; however I worried about her being alone between visits. I saw a niche in the pet sitting business, which I had wanted for her.

So, I created a pet boarding by taking dogs into my home, where I would care for them as if they were my own dog. They would not only have constant monitoring and companionship, but they would be in a quiet, comfortable environment. Since dogs are very social animals, they are most happy when they have canine and human companionship.

My company’s mission is to create an atmosphere where dogs could be relaxed and happy and the owners would be relaxed knowing their dogs were being well cared for.

Having run my business for 16 years, I have developed considerable expertise on dog behavior and psychology. I enjoy an excellent reputation in the community and was even selected to be in the “Who’s Who in American Businesses”. I love sharing my knowledge with my clients on how to resolve behavioral issues, health problems, etc.

My passion for dogs has made this a dream job for me. I feel so fortunate to have cared for hundreds of wonderful little dogs since starting my business.
